Our mission

Our Mission

Our mission is written into everything we do: care, compassion, and artistry. Care means surgical excellence: triple board-certified expertise, meticulous surgical precision, and an AAAHC-accredited surgery center. Compassion means listening intently, explaining every step, and meeting nerves with empathy so every patient feels in control. And artistry means results that look completely natural, because at the end of the day, we're not chasing trends; we're revealing the most confident version of you.

Meet Dr. Elias

The Story Behind Cosmetic Doc

Dr. Husam Elias came to cosmetic surgery by an unusual road. He first trained as a dental surgeon, earning a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Khartoum and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency there, serving as chief resident.

That dual training led him to the Cleveland Clinic, where he served as Section Head of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. There he treated complex injuries and deformities of the face and jaws, served as a team surgeon for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and was part of the team behind the first U.S. civilian face transplant. Few experiences teach a surgeon more about how the face is built, and how it should be rebuilt.

From Reconstruction to Refinement

Dr. Elias moved to Southern California, acquiring the Sherman Oaks practice in 2013 and the Pasadena practice in 2018. The same year, he expanded into cosmetic surgery and founded Cosmetic Doc, bringing a reconstructive surgeon's command of facial structure to aesthetic procedures of the face, breast, and body.

Today the practice has two pillars. Our cosmetic surgery practice covers facelifts, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast and body contouring, and non-surgical care. Our maxillofacial and facial skeletal surgery practice treats the jaws, chin, and facial framework, including corrective jaw surgery, facial asymmetry, and complex revision cases. Few surgeons are trained and board certified to offer both, and that is exactly what makes a natural, balanced result possible when a patient's goals involve bone as well as soft tissue.

Outside the office, Dr. Elias spends time with his family and enjoys golf, geopolitics, and technology.
